Comment on "Absence of Compressible Edge Channel Rings in Quantum Antidots"
M. Kataoka, C. J. B. Ford

TL;DR
This paper critiques a previous study claiming the absence of compressible regions around quantum antidots, identifying a critical flaw that challenges the validity of their conclusions.
Contribution
It provides a detailed analysis pointing out a major flaw in the prior work, thereby clarifying the understanding of compressible regions in quantum antidots.
Findings
Identifies a flaw in the previous analysis.
Challenges the claim of absence of compressible regions.
Supports the existence of compressible regions around antidots.
Abstract
In a recent article, Karakurt et al. [I. Karakurt et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 89, 226803 (2002)] reported the absence of compressible regions around antidots in the quantum Hall regime. We wish to point out a significant flaw in their analysis, which invalidates their claim.
