Electromagnetic analog of Rashba spin-orbit interaction in wave guides filled with ferrite
Evgeny N.Bulgakov, Almas F. Sadreev

TL;DR
This paper demonstrates an electromagnetic analog of Rashba spin-orbit interaction in a ferrite-filled waveguide, establishing a correspondence between Maxwell equations and the Schrödinger equation with spin-orbit coupling.
Contribution
It introduces a novel analogy linking electromagnetic wave behavior in ferrite waveguides to quantum spin-orbit phenomena, providing a new platform for studying such effects.
Findings
Maxwell equations are equivalent to Schrödinger equation with Rashba interaction
The spin-orbit constant is determined by ferrite's magnetic permeability
Electromagnetic fields correspond to electron spinor components
Abstract
We consider infinitely long electromagnetic wave guide filled with a ferrite. The wave guide has arbitrary but constant cross-section \chi$ related to the z-th component of magnetic field by relation (30).
