Connection to existing $m$-axial Lifshitz universality classes
Abstract
We describe new universality classes associated to generic higher character Lifshitz critical behaviors for systems with arbitrary short range competing interactions. New renormalization-group arguments are proposed for anisotropic and isotropic systems. The usual -axial Lifshitz universality classes are obtained as a simple limit of this arbitrary competing critical behavior.
