L. M. Abreu, C. de Calan, A. P. C. Malbouisson

TL;DR
This paper investigates how the Halperin-Lubensky-Ma effect influences phase transitions in type-I superconducting films, providing formulas for critical and size temperatures based on film thickness.
Contribution
It introduces a combined use of generalized zeta-functions and compactification techniques to analyze phase transitions in superconducting films, deriving explicit formulas.
Findings
Formulas for critical temperature as a function of film thickness
Formulas for size temperature as a function of film thickness
Analysis of weak first-order phase transitions in superconducting films
Abstract
In this note we employ concurrently techniques of generalized -functions and compactification methods introduced in previous publications, to study the Halperin-Lubensky-Ma theory of induced weak first-order phase transitions applied to type-I superconducting films. We obtain closed formulas to the critical temperature and to the size temperature as functions of the film thickness.
