K. Sasaki, Y. Kawazoe, and R. Saito

TL;DR
This paper investigates how the ground state energy of a twisted square lattice torus exhibits fractional periodicity in magnetic flux, revealing new quantum interference effects due to lattice twist.
Contribution
It introduces the concept of fractional flux periodicity in twisted square lattice tori, a novel quantum phenomenon not previously documented.
Findings
Ground state energy shows fractional flux periodicity
Period depends on the twist of the lattice
Reveals new quantum interference effects
Abstract
We present fractional flux periodicity in the ground state of planar systems made of a square lattice whose boundary is compacted into a torus. The ground-state energy shows a fractional period of the fundamental unit of magnetic flux depending on the twist around the torus axis.
