Y. Z. Zhang

TL;DR
This paper uses the density matrix renormalization group method to map the phase diagram of a half-filled one-dimensional extended Hubbard model, revealing a narrow bond-order-wave phase and accurately locating the tricritical point.
Contribution
It provides a precise determination of the phase boundaries and the existence of a controversial bond-order-wave phase in the model.
Findings
Identification of a narrow bond-order-wave phase
Accurate location of the tricritical point at U_t≈7.2t and V_t≈3.746t
Clarification of the phase diagram structure
Abstract
We use a density matrix renormalization group method to study quantitatively the phase diagram of a one-dimensional extended Hubbard model at half-filling by investigating the correlation functions and structure factors. We confirm the existence of a novel narrow region with long-rang bond-order-wave order which is highly controversial recently between the charge-density-wave phase and Mott insulator phase. We determined accurately the position of the tricritical point , which is quite different from previous studies.
