Novel Families of Fractional Quantum Hall States : A Berry Phase Approach
B. Basu, P. Bandyopadhyay

TL;DR
This paper uses a Berry phase approach to unify and analyze newly observed fractional quantum Hall states, showing they fit within the primary sequence rather than being second-generation states.
Contribution
It introduces a Berry phase framework that comprehensively describes the spectrum of quantum Hall states, including new observations, challenging previous classifications.
Findings
New FQH states fit within the primary sequence
Berry phase approach unifies various FQH states
Challenges the second-generation state classification
Abstract
We have studied here the newly observed families of fractional quantum Hall states in the framework of Berry phase. It has been shown that this approach embraces in a unified way the whole spectrum of quantum Hall states with their various characteristic features. The newly observed states can be well accommodated within the primary sequence of FQH states and need not be considered as second generation FQH states as suggested by some authors.
