Peter Olsson, S. Teitel

TL;DR
This paper provides the first numerical evidence for a kink-antikink unbinding transition in a 2D fully frustrated XY model, with potential implications for understanding phase transitions in such systems.
Contribution
It is the first to numerically confirm the kink-antikink unbinding transition in the 2D fully frustrated XY model.
Findings
Confirmed the existence of kink-antikink unbinding transition T_w
Analyzed implications for bulk phase transitions
Performed direct numerical simulations
Abstract
We carry out the first numerical simulations to directly confirm the existence of a kink-antikink unbinding transition, T_w, along Ising-like domain walls in the two dimensional fully frustrated XY model. We comment on the possible implications of kink-antikink unbinding for the bulk phase transitions of the model.
