Quantum impurity in a magnetic environment
Subir Sachdev (Yale)

TL;DR
This paper provides a unified framework for understanding how a localized quantum spin interacts with various magnetic environments such as antiferromagnets, spin glasses, and Kondo insulators, linking these to Bose Kondo problems.
Contribution
It offers a comprehensive perspective connecting different magnetic impurity problems under a common theoretical approach.
Findings
Unified description of impurity coupling in diverse magnetic systems
Connections established between Bose Kondo and other impurity problems
Insights into low-energy excitations in magnetic environments
Abstract
A unified perspective is given on a number of different problems involving the coupling of a localized quantum spin degree of freedom to the low energy excitations of an antiferromagnet, a spin glass, or a Kondo insulator. The problems are related to those in the class often referred to as "Bose Kondo".
