The effect of entropy on macroions adsorption
Felipe Jimenez-Angeles, Marcelo Lozada-Cassou

TL;DR
This paper investigates how entropy influences macroion adsorption on surfaces, highlighting its role in interfacial phenomena and aligning with experimental and simulation findings on charge reversal and self-assembly.
Contribution
It introduces a simple model emphasizing entropy's importance in macroion adsorption, providing qualitative agreement with existing experimental and simulation data.
Findings
Entropy significantly affects macroion adsorption behavior.
Results align with experimental observations of charge reversal.
Self-assembling phenomena are explained by the model.
Abstract
We study macroion adsorption on planar surfaces, through a simple model. The importance of entropy in the interfacial phenomena is stressed. Our results are in qualitative agreement with available computer simulations and experimental results on charge reversal and self-assembling at interfaces.
