Optimal Pump Frequency for Ac Hysteretic Squid
Andrey L. Pankratov

TL;DR
This paper analyzes the fluctuational dynamics of ac hysteretic SQUIDs, showing that the ratio of pump to characteristic frequency critically influences sensitivity, with a resonant signal-to-noise ratio behavior at specific pump frequencies.
Contribution
It introduces an analytical and numerical framework to identify optimal pump frequency ratios for enhancing SQUID sensitivity, emphasizing the importance of frequency ratios over absolute values.
Findings
Optimal sensitivity depends on the ratio of pump to characteristic frequency.
Resonant behavior of signal-to-noise ratio observed at specific pump frequencies.
Narrow optimal pump frequency range identified.
Abstract
This paper presents the analytical and numerical analysis of fluctuational dynamics of ac hysteretic SQUID. It has been demonstrated, that the most important parameter for the improvement of the hysteretic SQUID sensitivity is the ratio between the pump and the characteristic frequencies but not their absolute values. The resonant behavior of signal-to-noise ratio as function of the pump frequency has been observed and the narrow area for the optimal pump frequency range is indicated.
