Damping of coupled phonon--plasmon modes
L.A. Falkovsky

TL;DR
This paper investigates how free carriers influence the dispersion and damping of coupled phonon-plasmon modes, considering scattering rates and Landau damping within the long-wave approximation.
Contribution
It introduces a comprehensive analysis of damping mechanisms affecting coupled phonon-plasmon modes, including electron and phonon scattering and Landau damping.
Findings
Electron and phonon scattering rates significantly affect mode damping.
Landau damping contributes to the overall damping of coupled modes.
Dispersion relations are modified by free carrier effects.
Abstract
The effect of free carriers on dispersion and damping of coupled phonon-plasmon modes is considered in the long-wave approximation. The electron and phonon scattering rate as well as Landau damping are taken into account.
