Magnus Force on Quantum Hall Skyrmions and Vortices
S. Dhar, B. Basu, P. Bandyopadhyay

TL;DR
This paper investigates the Magnus force on vortices and skyrmions in quantum Hall systems, highlighting its origin from system chirality linked to Berry phase, and demonstrating its equivalence in both cases.
Contribution
It reveals that the Magnus force in quantum Hall systems arises from chirality and Berry phase, providing a unified understanding for vortices and skyrmions.
Findings
Magnus force is generated by system chirality.
Magnus force is associated with Berry phase.
The force is identical for vortices and skyrmions.
Abstract
We have discussed here the Magnus force acting on the vortices and skyrmions in the quantum Hall systems. We have found that it is generated by the chirality of the system which is associated with the Berry phase and is same for both the cases.
