Sole-Manrubia model of biological evolution: some new insights
Debashish Chowdhury, Dietrich Stauffer

TL;DR
This paper explores the Sole-Manrubia model of macro-evolution, providing new insights into species origination, evolution, and extinction over geological timescales, highlighting its realistic features.
Contribution
The paper offers novel analysis of the Sole-Manrubia model, enhancing understanding of its dynamics and realistic features in macro-evolution modeling.
Findings
Identifies key properties of the model
Provides insights into species extinction patterns
Highlights realistic features of macro-evolution
Abstract
The Sole-Manrubia model of ``macro''-evolution describes the origination, evolution and extinction of species on geological time scales. We report some properties of this model which provide deep insight into this simple model which captures several realistic features.
