Charged Particle-Image Interaction Near a Conducting Surface
M. Durgut, E. Mete

TL;DR
This paper investigates how electrons interact with conducting surfaces using a quantum formalism, deriving effective potentials for single and double plane configurations to understand electron-image electron scattering.
Contribution
It introduces a quantum formalism based on Bohm-Pines transformation to analyze electron-surface interactions and derives effective interaction potentials for different surface configurations.
Findings
Derived effective interaction potentials for electron-surface configurations.
Analyzed electron-image electron scattering phenomena.
Provided a theoretical framework for electron-conducting surface interactions.
Abstract
The interaction of a bulk electron with conducting surfaces is studied by means of Bohm-Pines transformation in the second quantization formalism. The effective interaction potentials are obtained for the case of one plane and two plane configurations in the form of electron-image electron scattering.
