Maxim Olshanii (1), David Weiss (2) ((1) University of Southern, California, (2) The Pennsylvania State University)

TL;DR
This paper proposes a method to produce Bose condensates using optical lattices by relating their entropies, enabling adiabatic transformation without the need for evaporative cooling.
Contribution
It introduces a novel approach to achieve Bose condensation through entropy management in optical lattices, bypassing traditional cooling techniques.
Findings
Identifies conditions for adiabatic transformation into Bose condensates.
Shows feasibility of condensation without evaporative cooling.
Relates entropy of lattice-bound atoms to simple traps.
Abstract
We relate the entropies of ensembles of atoms in optical lattices to atoms in simple traps. We then determine which ensembles of lattice-bound atoms will adiabatically transform into a Bose condensate. This shows a feasible approach to Bose condensation without evaporative cooling.
