Competition between fluctuations and disorder in frustrated magnets
Julien Serreau, Matthieu Tissier

TL;DR
This paper explores how impurities influence phase transitions in frustrated magnets near four dimensions, revealing the absence of stable fixed points for certain parameters, indicating significant physical effects.
Contribution
It demonstrates that impurities can eliminate stable fixed points in frustrated magnets, challenging previous expectations based on general principles.
Findings
No stable fixed point for small number of spin components in perturbative regime
Impurities induce significant physical effects in frustrated magnets
Results suggest complex behavior near criticality in disordered systems
Abstract
We investigate the effects of impurities on the nature of the phase transition in frustrated magnets, in d=4-epsilon dimensions. For sufficiently small values of the number of spin components, we find no physically relevant stable fixed point in the deep perturbative region (epsilon << 1), contrarily to what is to be expected on very general grounds. This signals the onset of important physical effects.
