C. D. Batista, J. Bon\v{c}a, and J. E. Gubernatis

TL;DR
This paper proposes a new mechanism for itinerant ferromagnetism based on a two-band model, demonstrating its presence in the Periodic Anderson Model and its relevance to certain electron compounds.
Contribution
It introduces a novel ferromagnetism mechanism not relying on intra-atomic Hund's coupling, applicable to the Periodic Anderson Model and specific electron materials.
Findings
The mechanism is demonstrated in the Periodic Anderson Model.
It does not require intra-atomic Hund's coupling.
Applicable to iron group and some f-electron compounds.
Abstract
We introduce a novel mechanism for itinerant ferromagnetism, which is based on a simple two-band model, and using numerical and analytical methods, we show that the Periodic Anderson Model (PAM) contains this mechanism. We propose that the mechanism, which does not assume an intra-atomic Hund's coupling, is present in both the iron group and some electron compounds.
