SemHe: A Generalised Two-Level System
George Anton Kiraz (University of Cambridge)

TL;DR
SemHe introduces a flexible two-level system capable of handling both linear and non-linear morphological operations, with an algorithm for interpreting multi-tape rules and discussions on non-linear grammar development.
Contribution
It provides a generalized two-level implementation and an interpretation algorithm for multi-tape rules, addressing challenges in non-linear grammar development.
Findings
Handles linear and non-linear morphological operations
Provides an algorithm for multi-tape rule interpretation
Discusses issues in non-linear grammar development with Syriac examples
Abstract
This paper presents a generalised two-level implementation which can handle linear and non-linear morphological operations. An algorithm for the interpretation of multi-tape two-level rules is described. In addition, a number of issues which arise when developing non-linear grammars are discussed with examples from Syriac.
