Neven Bilic, Gary B. Tupper, and Raoul D. Viollier

TL;DR
This paper proposes a Zel'dovich-like approximation for the Chaplygin gas, unifying dark matter and dark energy within a geometric framework inspired by M-theory.
Contribution
It introduces a novel approximation method for the Chaplygin gas and explores its potential to unify dark matter and dark energy in a geometric context.
Findings
Chaplygin gas can be modeled with a Zel'dovich-like approximation
Unified description of dark matter and dark energy is possible
Connections to M-theory provide a geometric interpretation
Abstract
We formulate a Zel'dovich-like approximation for the Chaplygin gas equation of state P = -A/rho, and sketch how this model unifies dark matter with dark energy in a geometric setting reminiscent of M-theory.
