Solar Cycle Variation of the Solar Internal Rotation: Helioseismic Inversion and Dynamo Modelling
S. Vorontsov, R. Tavakol, E. Covas, D. Moss

TL;DR
This paper compares helioseismic measurements of solar internal rotation with predictions from non-linear solar dynamo models to understand how solar activity influences internal rotation variations.
Contribution
It presents the first comparison between helioseismic data and dynamo model predictions regarding solar internal rotation variations over the solar cycle.
Findings
Helioseismic measurements show variation in internal rotation correlated with solar activity.
Dynamo models predict similar rotation variation patterns.
Comparison highlights areas for improving solar dynamo models.
Abstract
We report our first results on comparing the variations of the solar internal rotation with solar activity, as predicted by non-linear solar dynamo modelling, with helioseismic measurements using the SOHO MDI data.
