TL;DR
This paper reviews the characteristics and clinical implications of progressive transformation of germinal centers, a benign condition that can resemble other lymphatic disorders.
Contribution
The study provides a systematic review to clarify the diagnostic and clinical features of PTGC and highlights areas needing further research.
Findings
PTGC is a benign condition that can mimic lymphoproliferative disorders.
The review outlines clinical and pathological features to aid in diagnosis.
Areas for further research include better diagnostic criteria and long-term outcomes.
Abstract
Progressive transformation of germinal centers (PTGC) is a benign histopathological process, typically manifesting as persistent, painless lymphadenopathy. It is of clinical significance because of its ability to mimic or coexist with other lymphoproliferative disorders. This systematic review summarizes the currently available literature to outline the clinical, pathological, and diagnostic features of PTGC and to identify areas that require further investigations to guide future clinical practice.
