Contribution
The study provides new insights into hypothyroidism management during pregnancy in a Middle Eastern population, emphasizing early intervention and structured monitoring.
Findings
Women with pre-gestational hypothyroidism required significantly higher levothyroxine doses than those with gestational hypothyroidism.
TSH normalization improved from the first to the third trimester, indicating effective treatment adjustments.
Normal third-trimester TSH was associated with a higher prevalence of gestational diabetes mellitus.
