TL;DR
This study explores how people with diabetes experience inpatient hospital care and highlights the need for better support of self-management practices.
Contribution
The study uniquely explores patient experiences of diabetes care during hospitalization and identifies barriers to self-management.
Findings
Hospital practices often discourage diabetes self-management by not considering patients' knowledge or preferences.
Limited flexibility in hospital schedules and routines hinders effective diabetes management.
Involving patients in care decisions is crucial for improving diabetes outcomes during hospitalization.
