## TL;DR

This paper presents the draft genome of a drug-resistant Salmonella strain found in a river in South Africa.

## Contribution

The study provides genomic insights into a multidrug-resistant Salmonella Braenderup strain from an urban river.

## Key findings

- The isolate belongs to sequence type 22 and shows resistance to multiple antibiotics.
- It carries resistance genes including blaCTX-M-15, qnrB19, and a parC mutation.

## Abstract

We report the draft genome of multidrug-resistant Salmonella enterica serovar Braenderup strain DE0603, isolated from an urban river in Johannesburg, South Africa. The isolate was identified as sequence type 22 and carries multiple resistance genes, including blaCTX-M-15, qnrB19, and a parC mutation (p.T57S; ACC→AGC) associated with fluoroquinolone resistance.
