TL;DR
This study explores fall risks among older adults in rural coastal Thailand, finding that unemployment and lack of mosquito nets are linked to higher fall rates.
Contribution
The study identifies specific home environmental and socioeconomic factors associated with falls in rural coastal Thai communities.
Findings
17% of older adults in rural coastal areas reported a fall in the past six months.
Unemployment was significantly associated with a higher prevalence of falls.
Having a mosquito net in the bedroom was linked to a reduced risk of falling.
