Abstract
The pericapsular nerve group (PENG) block has proven to be an effective strategy for postoperative pain management in total hip arthroplasty (THA). However, its implementation requires specialized equipment and expertise, which limits its reproducibility. The objective of this study was to describe the technique of direct visualization-guided PENG block (PENG-DV) and assess its outcomes for postoperative pain control. A retrospective cohort study was conducted in patients who underwent THA through a direct anterior approach (DAA) and received the PENG-DV block as part of a standardized multimodal analgesia protocol.
