Patranit Srijuntrapun, Kusawadee Maluangnon

TL;DR
This paper develops community-based guidelines for managing unused and expired medications in areas without formal disposal systems.
Contribution
The study introduces a stakeholder-engaged, waste hierarchy-based framework for managing medication waste in communities.
Findings
Blood glucose lowering agents are the most common unused medications in households.
Anti-hypertensive drugs are the most frequently expired medications.
Medication wastage occurs at multiple stages in the system.
