## TL;DR

This paper presents the genome sequence of the weevil Pachyrhinus lethierryi, including two haplotypes and a mitochondrial genome, as part of a larger project to sequence species in Britain and Ireland.

## Contribution

The paper provides a high-quality reference genome for Pachyrhinus lethierryi, including chromosomal pseudomolecules and a mitochondrial genome.

## Key findings

- The genome assembly includes two haplotypes with lengths of 619.57 and 512.45 megabases.
- Haplotype 1 is largely scaffolded into 11 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the X chromosome.
- The mitochondrial genome is 21.74 kilobases in length.

## Abstract

We present a genome assembly from an individual male
Pachyrhinus lethierryi (weevil; Arthropoda; Insecta; Coleoptera; Curculionidae). The assembly contains two haplotypes with total lengths of 619.57 megabases and 512.45 megabases. Most of haplotype 1 (99.88%) is scaffolded into 11 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the X sex chromosome. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 21.74 kilobases. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces reference genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland.
