## TL;DR

This paper summarizes the peer review of the pesticide diflufenican's risk assessment for use on cereal crops in the EU.

## Contribution

The paper provides updated conclusions on the regulatory risk assessment and missing data for diflufenican.

## Key findings

- Diflufenican is evaluated for use on various cereal crops including wheat, barley, and rye.
- Reliable endpoints for regulatory risk assessment were identified.
- Missing information and concerns were reported based on the regulatory framework.

## Abstract

The conclusions of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) following the peer review of the initial risk assessments carried out by the competent authorities of the rapporteur Member State the United Kingdom and Czech Republic after Brexit, and co‐rapporteur Member State Czech Republic for the pesticide active substance diflufenican and the assessment of the confirmatory data following the Article 12 maximum residue levels (MRLs) review are reported. The context of the peer review was that required by Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 844/2012, as amended by Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 2018/1659. The conclusions were reached on the basis of the evaluation of the representative uses of diflufenican as a herbicide on cereal crops (spring wheat and barley; winter wheat and barley; rye, triticale, spelt (spring and winter); durum wheat). The reliable end points, appropriate for use in regulatory risk assessment and the assessment of confirmatory data following the Article 12 MRL review, are presented. Missing information identified as being required by the regulatory framework is listed. Concerns are reported where identified.
