## TL;DR

This paper provides the complete genome sequence of the long-legged fly Neurigona quadrifasciata as part of a larger project to sequence species in Britain and Ireland.

## Contribution

The novel contribution is the high-quality genome assembly of Neurigona quadrifasciata, including its mitochondrial genome.

## Key findings

- The genome assembly is 582.53 megabases long with 99.61% scaffolded into 6 chromosomal pseudomolecules.
- The mitochondrial genome is 16.89 kilobases in length and has been fully assembled.

## Abstract

We present a genome assembly from an individual female
Neurigona quadrifasciata (long-legged fly; Arthropoda; Insecta; Diptera; Dolichopodidae). The genome sequence has a total length of 582.53 megabases. Most of the assembly (99.61%) is scaffolded into 6 chromosomal pseudomolecules. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 16.89 kilobases. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces reference genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland.
