## TL;DR

This paper presents the full genome sequence of a marine bacterium from Japan that can reduce iodate.

## Contribution

The complete genome sequence of a novel iodate-reducing Pseudomonas strain from marine sediment is reported.

## Key findings

- Pseudomonas sp. SCT was isolated from marine sediment in Japan.
- The complete genome sequence of strain SCT has been determined.

## Abstract

Pseudomonas sp. strain SCT is a dissimilatory iodate (IO3–)-reducing bacterium isolated from marine sediment in Japan. Here, we report the complete genome sequence of strain SCT.
