TL;DR
This paper presents the draft genome sequence of Leishmania tropica, a parasite causing cutaneous leishmaniasis in Pakistan.
Contribution
The study provides a new draft genome sequence of L. tropica isolated from a patient in Pakistan.
Findings
The genome sequence was obtained from a cutaneous leishmaniasis patient in Pakistan.
This draft genome can aid in understanding the genetic basis of L. tropica in the region.
Abstract
Cutaneous leishmaniasis (CL) is a major health issue in Pakistan, mainly caused by Leishmania tropica (L. tropica). Here, we report the draft genome sequence of an L. tropica isolate from a CL patient in Pakistan.
