P-1824. Implementing Hepatitis C Treatment During Inpatient Admissions at a US-Based Tertiary Hospital
Anna C Scialli, Tara Vijayan

TL;DR
This paper describes a new protocol to treat hepatitis C in hospitalized patients, improving access for underserved groups like the unhoused.
Contribution
A quality improvement protocol enabling hospitalists to initiate hepatitis C treatment during inpatient stays.
Findings
Hospitalists were generally supportive but unsure how to treat hepatitis C inpatients.
An EMR order set and specialty pharmacy delivery improved treatment initiation for four patients, including two who were unhoused.
The protocol offers a replicable model for other hospitals to expand hepatitis C care access.
