Temesgen D Nurye, mengistu hagazi, Carla Y Kim

TL;DR
This study examines how armed conflict in northern Ethiopia disrupted care for advanced HIV and cryptococcal meningitis, highlighting the impact on healthcare providers and patients.
Contribution
The study provides novel insights into the effects of armed conflict on HIV and cryptococcal meningitis care in a low-resource setting.
Findings
Healthcare providers experienced emotional distress and burnout due to limited resources during the conflict.
Critical shortages of HIV medications and diagnostics led to preventable patient deaths.
Post-conflict recovery efforts are urgently needed to restore AHD and CM services.
