Abstract
Hepatitis B virus (HBV) remains a major public health concern, especially in developing countries where infection rates are significantly high. HBV can lead to serious complications including chronic liver disease, cirrhosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma. Understanding the socio-demographic and behavioral determinants of HBV transmission is essential for effective intervention. This study aimed to assess the prevalence of HBV and identify associated risk factors among sexually active patients attending General Hospital Minna, Niger State. A hospital-based cross-sectional study was conducted among 300 sexually active patients aged 15–65 years. Participants were selected randomly and data were collected using a self-administered questionnaire capturing demographic information, behavioral risk factors, and clinical history.
