TL;DR
This study aimed to improve meningococcal vaccine awareness and acceptance among students living in boarding schools and college dorms through educational sessions and surveys.
Contribution
The study introduced collaborative learning sessions and a national online toolkit to improve meningococcal vaccination rates and understanding in residential student populations.
Findings
Educational sessions significantly improved students' knowledge and attitudes toward meningococcal vaccination.
Unvaccinated students were highly likely to get vaccinated after the sessions.
Strong healthcare provider recommendations and on-campus vaccination access were key motivators for vaccination.
