## TL;DR

This paper presents the genome sequence of the Barred Hook-tip moth, including a detailed assembly and gene annotation.

## Contribution

The study provides a high-quality genome assembly and gene annotation for Watsonalla cultraria.

## Key findings

- The genome assembly is 319.38 megabases long, with 99.94% scaffolded into 31 chromosomal pseudomolecules.
- Gene annotation identified 16,011 protein-coding genes using Ensembl.
- The mitochondrial genome was assembled and is 15.21 kilobases in length.

## Abstract

We present a genome assembly from a male specimen of
Watsonalla cultraria (Barred Hook-tip; Arthropoda; Insecta; Lepidoptera; Drepanidae). The genome sequence has a total length of 319.38 megabases. Most of the assembly (99.94%) is scaffolded into 31 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the Z sex chromosome. Gene annotation of this assembly on Ensembl identified 16 011 protein-coding genes. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 15.21 kilobases.
