A. Benjamin Srivastava, Mark S. Gold

TL;DR
This paper reviews the current state of psychedelic research for treating alcohol use disorder and highlights limitations in study design and interpretation.
Contribution
The paper identifies key limitations in psychedelic research for AUD and suggests ways to improve future studies.
Findings
Current psychedelic research on AUD lacks rigorous study designs and clear definitions of therapeutic approaches.
Neuroimaging studies do not adequately address the cognitive processes behind treatment effects.
The relationship between psychedelic experiences and spiritual experiences in recovery remains poorly understood.
