## TL;DR

Scientists sequenced the genome of the ichneumonid wasp Perithous albicinctus, providing a detailed genetic blueprint for this species.

## Contribution

The paper provides a high-quality genome assembly for Perithous albicinctus, including chromosomal scaffolding and mitochondrial DNA.

## Key findings

- The genome assembly is 383.46 megabases long with 97.06% scaffolded into 17 chromosomal pseudomolecules.
- The mitochondrial genome is 35.92 kilobases long and fully assembled.
- The genome data is part of the Darwin Tree of Life project focusing on British and Irish species.

## Abstract

We present a genome assembly from an individual female
Perithous albicinctus (ichneumonid wasp; Arthropoda; Insecta; Hymenoptera; Ichneumonidae). The genome sequence has a total length of 383.46 megabases. Most of the assembly (97.06%) is scaffolded into 17 chromosomal pseudomolecules. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 35.92 kilobases. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces reference genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland.
