## TL;DR

This paper presents the genome sequence of the fungus weevil Platystomos albinus, including two haplotypes and the mitochondrial genome.

## Contribution

The study provides a high-quality genome assembly for Platystomos albinus, including chromosomal pseudomolecules and mitochondrial DNA.

## Key findings

- The genome assembly includes two haplotypes totaling 555.31 and 554.55 megabases.
- Haplotype 1 is scaffolded into 11 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the X chromosome.
- The mitochondrial genome is 17.09 kilobases in length.

## Abstract

We present a genome assembly from a female specimen of
Platystomos albinus (fungus weevil; Arthropoda; Insecta; Coleoptera; Anthribidae). The assembly contains two haplotypes with total lengths of 555.31 megabases and 554.55 megabases. Haplotype 1 is scaffolded into 11 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the X sex chromosome. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 17.09 kilobases.
