## TL;DR

A patient with thalassemia minor developed deep vein thrombosis, highlighting the need for clinicians to monitor thrombotic risks in such patients.

## Contribution

This case report highlights the unexpected thrombotic risk in patients with beta-thalassemia minor.

## Key findings

- Deep vein thrombosis can occur in patients with beta-thalassemia minor.
- Thrombotic risk should be considered in these patients to prevent life-threatening complications.

## Abstract

Deep vein thrombosis may develop in patients with beta‐thalassemia minor despite its benign hematologic course. Clinicians should consider thrombotic risk in these patients, ensuring timely recognition and management to prevent potentially life‐threatening complications.
