TL;DR
A nursing-led video intervention before hip replacement surgery did not immediately reduce anxiety or depression but may help with recovery one month later.
Contribution
The study evaluates a nurse-led video-based emotional preparation intervention for THA patients, comparing it to standard care.
Findings
No immediate emotional benefits were observed from the nursing-led video intervention.
Both groups showed improved mental health and quality of life one month post-surgery.
The video intervention may support functional recovery but is not proven more effective than usual care.

Postoperative anxiety and depression are common following total hip arthroplasty (THA) and can negatively affect recovery.
