Electronic equivalent of a mechanical impact oscillator
Volodymyr Denysenko, Marek Balcerzak, Artur Dabrowski

TL;DR
Researchers designed an electronic circuit that mimics the behavior of a mechanical impact oscillator with elastic collisions.
Contribution
A novel electronic circuit is introduced that replicates the dynamics of a mechanical discontinuous impact oscillator.
Findings
The governing equations of the circuit were derived to match the mechanical system's behavior.
Simulations showed strong agreement between the electronic and mechanical models in both single and coupled configurations.
Abstract
This study proposes a novel electronic circuit design that accurately replicates the dynamics of a mechanical discontinuous impact oscillator characterized by hard elastic impacts. The governing equations of the circuit are systematically derived to establish its equivalence with the mechanical system. Numerical simulations are conducted for both single and coupled configurations, demonstrating a high degree of agreement between the electronic and mechanical models.
