## TL;DR

This paper presents the genome sequence of the Tawny Oak Tortrix, a moth species, as part of a larger project to sequence British and Irish eukaryotic species.

## Contribution

The paper provides a high-quality genome assembly including sex chromosomes and mitochondrial DNA for Acleris ferrugana.

## Key findings

- The genome assembly is 480.03 megabases long with 99.03% scaffolded into 31 chromosomal pseudomolecules.
- The mitochondrial genome is 16.58 kilobases long and has been fully assembled.
- The genome was sequenced as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project.

## Abstract

We present a genome assembly from an individual female
Acleris ferrugana (Tawny Oak Tortrix; Arthropoda; Insecta; Lepidoptera; Tortricidae). The genome sequence has a total length of 480.03 megabases. Most of the assembly (99.03%) is scaffolded into 31 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the W and Z sex chromosomes. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 16.58 kilobases. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces reference genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland.
