TL;DR
This study explores why gestational diabetes screening is not being done in two Tanzanian hospitals and how it can be improved.
Contribution
The study identifies specific barriers and opportunities for implementing GDM screening in district hospitals in Tanzania.
Findings
GDM screening was not conducted according to national guidelines in the studied hospitals.
Lack of training, supplies, and hospital prioritization hindered GDM screening services.
Including GDM in hospital agendas is seen as key to improving screening quality.
