Abstract
To investigate the extent and practice of home-based treatment for patients with hematologic malignancies in Denmark. This nationwide exploratory study was conducted at all Danish hematologic departments (n = 9). Each site received an online questionnaire for the collection of data on the type of therapy administered as home-based treatment, the specific treatments with details on target populations, patient criteria, implementation status, and practice for clinical management. Six types of therapy were offered as home-based treatments across the Danish hematologic departments: chemotherapy, immunoglobulin, immunotherapy, hydration therapy, antibiotics, and parenteral nutrition. In total, 17 treatments were offered, with the majority being provided to patients with multiple myeloma. Immunoglobulin and antibiotics were most often provided at home.
