## TL;DR

Nurse-led interventions like the Epley maneuver and fall prevention education improve balance and physical performance in BPPV patients.

## Contribution

This study demonstrates the effectiveness of nurse-directed interventions in improving outcomes for BPPV patients.

## Key findings

- The experimental group showed significant improvements in SPPB and BBS scores.
- A positive correlation was found between physical performance and balance (r = 0.38, p = 0.01).
- Nurse-directed interventions were effective and low-cost for reducing fall risk in BPPV patients.

## Abstract

The effect of nurse-directed interventions, including the Epley procedure and fall-prevention education, on physical performance and
functional balance in patients with Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) is of interest. 50 participants were divided into an
experimental group (Epley technique and mobility education) and a control group (standard care). After the intervention, the experimental
group showed significant improvements in the Short Physical Performance Battery (SPPB) and Berg Balance Scale (BBS) scores, with a
positive correlation (r = 0.38, p = 0.01) between physical performance and balance. Socio-demographic factors also influenced outcomes.
Nurse-directed interventions were found to be effective, low-cost methods for improving function and reducing fall risk in BPPV
patients.
