Abstract
Perimenopausal insomnia (PMI) significantly compromises the quality of life and the physical and mental wellbeing of perimenopausal women. Although many randomized controlled trials (RCTs) indicate that acupuncture alleviates PMI symptoms, comprehensive evidence on its efficacy and safety is lacking. We conducted a meta-analysis to systematically evaluate the therapeutic efficacy and safety of acupuncture for PMI, aiming to provide robust, evidence-based guidance for clinical practice. A total of 12 trials were included in the study, involving 499 participants in the acupuncture group and 495 in the control group, all of which provided data for the meta-analysis.
