Abstract
To explore the experiences and perceptions of nursing students during their clinical practice about communication with patients while wearing a face mask. A descriptive qualitative study was conducted. Data were collected via semistructured, in-depth interviews between December 2024 and April 2025. Eighteen nursing students who communicate with patients while wearing a face mask during their clinical practice were recruited using purposive sampling. The interviews were audio-recorded and transcribed verbatim, and ATLAS.ti v.25.0.1 software was used for a thematic analysis of the interview data. The study adhered to the recommendations for reporting qualitative research (Standards for Reporting Qualitative Research).
